Songbirds (ages 18months - 9):
This Camp Opera program led by elementary music specialist, Gretchen Burbach, is tailored to be developmentally appropriate with the aim of nurturing the innate musical ability of our youngest children. Through song, instruments, and play, classes will uniquely explore the melodies of Mozart with a special emphasis on the music from The Magic Flute. The young singer will develop pitch matching skills and understanding of other basic musical concepts while building vocal confidence.
June 15 – June 29: (4 age groups) $60/Program
The Merle Hour (ages 18months - 9):
With her vast experience in Education, Dance and Art, Merle Eintracht leads exciting movement classes for children - in preparation for The Magic Flute. Characters, scenes and costumes to be announced. There is no better age to learn a love for theater than in early childhood. This summer, in preparation for the part they will play in The Magic Flute, we plan to harness our youngest cast members natural ability to dramatize, just as they are so often seen doing during play.

Drawing (ages 18months – 9 years):
The Magic Flute inspires the subjects we’ll draw during Camp Opera . We will explore the technical side of theater creating our own designs for costumes, props, dance, and more. Although the main focus of classes will be drawing, under the guidance of teacher Paige Keck, we will explore sculpture and use unfamiliar materials in familiar ways. Come develop your artist’s eye and learn techniques to make your drawings realistic, show dimension, and reflect your personal style. The step-by-step format ensures each artist’s success, understanding, and enjoyment of drawing.
