Tim Alcott and Seth Spaulding from Out of Darkness rock on!

We had worship, tracks, Bible study, lunch and rehearsals all afternoon. At 4:30, the Vocal, instrumental and praise band tracks performed. We dismissed for dinner and gathered again at 6:30 to see the dance, mime and theatre tracks perform.

Today the schedule changed to prepare for the evening program. The Gift Giver Showcase tonight included a presentation from each of the tracks.

Rehearsals began at 1:00 today with a Technical rehearsal for the dance, mime and theatre tracks. At 3:00, the tech track set up for the vocal, instrumental and praise band. The technical track was on the job everyday behind the scenes and sometimes on the stage.

FEATURED TRACKS
Tech Track
As with every day, we prayed and devoted our work to our Heavenly Father. Then, we reviewed some basic audio concepts: microphones, cabling and the basics of the sound board. Finally, we introduced the Industry Standard audio recording application, Digidesign Pro Tools 7. Every student was able to mix a 24-track song, in the same way as most professional studios. Each of these activities equip students to easily plug in to their church’s ministry.

Mime Track
Mime began with a devotional on Jesus being the light. We then rehearsed our sketch “Shine Your Light.” After lunch, we worked on that sketch and rehearsed a mime interpretation to the worship song, “My Life, My Love, My All.” We all felt it was a sacred moment. We ended with watching videos of last year’s mime sketches. The group has developed into a team that sees expressing God’s message clearly as their goal. The second piece the group is presenting includes the adults, too.
