The Irreverence Class Mission
The Irreverence Class Heavy Cruiser was designed for prolonged exploration beyond the frontiers of known space. Although similar in appearance to its sister ships, there were many changes. The Bridge incorporated a larger view screen in an enlarged command pit with a forward facing security station behind the three command chairs. All the quarters were upgraded in size to the earlier Constitution class quality. A new deck in the saucer included extensive scientific labs, a second shuttle deck, a special research computer to handle the multiplexing of the added sensors, and a plaza with a promenade for crew relaxation. The Warp and Impulse drive systems and the Matter / Anti-matter system were upgraded for better reliability. The new Irrelevant drive system was added for faster long distance travel.

The Stellar Wind
The 1501A plans were used by The Stellar Wind, a correspondence based amateur writers club from 1991 through 1997. The club eventually wrote and published about 200,000 words of multi-author coordinated fiction each year. The fiction dealt with life aboard our starship in the Star Trek universe. The Stellar Wind NCC-1501 was a chapter of Starfleet International. The final 1501A plans were completed in 1994.

My Thanks to the members of the USS Stellar Wind for their assistance in designing this ship and making the club a success.
