3 SHOES was a collage i did on a design trip in Italy back in 1997.
the shoe in the painting is a shoe i had great success with,originally it was trimmed with a wool plaid in grey and beige tones.

OK Let me explain, this is a little weird, I have had this for years in a storage box, really a shoe box, I just recently noticed what the shape represented.

Pink is a new piece of an old shoe that i designed back in 1985.
I used a bleach mix in the paint so it actually eats up some of the paint as it is drying.
You get a muddled finish that I like.

Rose was not an easy one to do, I used a method where i actually use a special tape to make the outline of the shoe, then I paint in between the tape, peel the tape off and done.
