We have been planning this adventure since 2005 when, on our way home from backpacking near Mt. Adams, Molly cavalierly said, “Let’s bike around the country.” Brian was ecstatic, of course, so they quickly set out daydreaming about taking some time off to see the USA. Almost 3 years later, the money has been saved up, the gear purchased, and all the arrangements made.
We’re both bike dorks: commuting to work, working in the industry, racing, grocery shopping, touring, wandering around town on our bikes. There are all sorts of advantages to getting around by bike, and this tour will allow us to benefit from all of them. Most of all, we will get to experience our country on a human scale and pace.
Keep an eye out for us, maybe we’re going to roll through your town, or your parents’ town, or your friend’s town. We’ll always stop for a chat.
