I would like to introduce myself to the families of Scales Elementary. My name is Amanda Parks, and I have worked with the Extended School Program for 12 years. I spent my first five years at Cason Lane Academy working with their I-OPPT program. For five years I served as the after school director for Hobgood Elementary and also served as Bellwood Elementary’s director for one year. I have been privileged to be with Scales Elementary since its founding in 2005. Our program SHINE, where Students Have Imaginative New Experiences, provides all students with many opportunities to participate in fun and educational classes. We want to encourage all children’s talents by offering classes such as dance, drama, Karate, Sewing,Basketball, painter’s studio, Clay creations, Cooking, Reading Assistance, Homework, and Sing a long songs.
