I was recently honored with a grant from the RICK EPTING FOUNDATION, to facilitate exhibiting a body of my photo work that represents the rich traditions of NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE.  My photo journal depicts the Native Americans gathering at the ELLENSBURG RODEO and PENDLETON ROUND UP, performing in the rodeo arena and TeePee village, to thousands of spectators.  Many dancers, singers, drummers and horseback riders captured in full regalia depict proud Native American culture, traditions, art, spirituality, and horse riding skills.  (The practice of Indian cultural traditions was illegal in parts of the United States, Mexico and Canada from 1680 to 1951.  Historically these rodeos were of the few events where Native Americans were allowed to legally appear in public practicing their traditions openly, without discrimination or percecution.)  Today American Indians continue to return every year to dance, celebrate, pray, laugh and socialize, as these events are now profoundly meaningful to help preserve the rich and colorful traditions of NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE, that was almost lost.  A percentage of photo sales from the NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE body of work, will be donated to the POTLATCH FUND, a charity organization that supports the preservation and awareness of arts and traditions in native culture.  Click here for more INFORMATION, or please contact me below:
