This film was put together in early 2006, the hospital is now nearing completion, and doctors are urgently required. This hospital that has been developed on the basis of local need. Women and children’s health is currently the priority, but there are plans to expand services in the future. An operation theatre is planned in the second phase.
We are developing a support mechanism for the running of the hospital with a web based ‘virtual hospital’ and a network of ‘real’ specialist doctors from India and abroad.
We hope to have a dynamic and progressive rural Himalayan hospital that could change the healthcare provision in the area and perhaps extend as model for similar areas.
