The Chintan Centre at Mathura, near Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal, would bring together science and spirituality for the good of mankind and the earth. An active work place, developing on the work philosophy of the ‘Gita’. Land has been donated for this purpose already.
This center for reflection would include a library resource with modern links, a meditation room, a small conference facility with rooms to stay and a charity medical clinic.
The idea is for a place to bring scientists, humanists and others engaged in humanitarian work, together in ‘chintan’, reflective thought with purpose into action.
This concept has been dubbed a ‘science ashram’ by eminent agricultural scientist, Prof M S Swaminathan.
A symposium on Science and Spirituality in Delhi took place in July 2008, starting the ‘Science Ashram Series’.
Chintan Centre
‘Chintan’ is reflective thought with purpose and this centre would serve as the first of the planned ‘Science Ashrams’
