Happy Birthday Annelise!

Annelise turned 4 today. My sweet beautiful loving Annelise. We were at the beach all week and the climax of the trip was her birthday. She loves the beach almost as much as I do. In fact when we left last time (in April) she was asking when we were going back. (That’s always what I want to know, too!) Anyway, when I told her that we were going the week of her birthday, she thought that was the best present ever!!

She got to open some presents and eat cake and ice cream--what more could she ask for?

Oh, and while we were at the beach she crossed that line from swimming with her floaties to not having to swim with her floaties. She is now an official swimmer. Now I have 2 swimmers. It’s getting just a little easier! :)

Another Beach Trip

We have some VERY nice friends that invited me and the girls to stay with them a few days at the beach. HOW could I say no? It worked out very well because Ryan is in Chicago for the week and we took a girl trip down to the beach. We all had so much fun. Everyone played in the sand and in the ocean and just had a great time. The beach is my happy place. I could just sit there all day with the breeze blowing in my hair and the surf pounding on the sand. . . ahhhhhh. Bliss!

We had a great set up--I had 2 other ladies to help me with the girls. We all played and relaxed. This is the good stuff--you know what I mean?!

We are back for a couple days and then I fly out to Chicago to meet Ryan for some R & R without the girls. I am so excited to spend a few days with just my husband. We are planning a Shakespeare festival show and maybe so jazz. We are going to go to the museums, run in front of Lake Michigan, some nice dinners out. Should be great....ahhhhh! More bliss. I love summer.

First steps

Meredith is now officially walking! She took her first steps this week. I can’t believe it. She’s now in the toddler stage. Before long she’ll be going to college. :) She does very well especially when she has her sisters to hold her hand. But she can walk up to 4 steps on her own. Then she gets all nervous and starts crawling again. But then she gets brave and stands back up and tries again. She will do even better if she has something in her had. (like her cup or something) I love how they all look bow-legged when they first start to walk. It’s so cute!

Yes, those are my girls looking like alien’s. We called it “firecracker hair”. I recently found this blog that has cute girl hairstyles and I have gone a little crazy! It was fun. It lasted until they got in the pool in the afternoon. We had a great 4th. We had some folks over from church--smoked some brisquet, another friend brought smoked pork, others brought potato salad, beans, jello salads, and yummy desserts. We all had fun, swam and just hung out. It was a good day. I hope everyone else had as good a day.
