I started writing in high school: essays, book reports, even a bit of poetry to keep in the good graces of my English teachers when a part time job caused my grades to plummet. Soon, writing became serious.
First, mountains of college compositions, then later, business writing, when I chose a career in advertising. I liked the advertising business a lot; learned to write marketing plans, ad copy of every type, radio and TV commercials, public relations releases.
After 20 years, advertising no longer challenged me, so I struck out on my own to seek new writing adventures as a freelancer. Since then I've written about almost every subject from algorithms to watercolor painting and indulged my passion for short story fiction, too.
I wrote for a book packager; a travel newsletter, a business newsletter; special events like festivals, art shows, and trade shows. Further, my newspaper writing wins awards. As a result, the scope of my creativity has expanded wider than I ever expected. Each new writing assignment powers up my curiosity as I research facts and ponder words to express information that grabs readers' attention and holds it.
I don't want to sound arrogant, but I can write just about anything. Okay, I sound arrogant. But I don't turn down anything except porno and college research papers.
If you've read this far, you might need writing help. A freelancer is a good choice. No employee benefits package, no idle time checking e-mail on your computer, no office politics to distract and the cost is...well, let's just say you get a bargain. In other words, freelance is a good "buy"!
