Best Decision Ever!

Hello Team!

I hope that everyone is doing well! I’m doing really great! I would like to give you a quick update on life and ministry or shall I say, “life ministry” because they are both so intertwined. Most of you know, but for those who don’t, I just got married! It was the best decision in my life (after considering that accepting Christ was number one). After salvation in Christ, Jorge is the biggest demonstration of God’s grace in my life. He is a gift from the Lord to me. We had an amazing wedding. It truly more than we could have ever asked or imagined like Ephesians 3:20 says in the Bible. We were married on May 30th.

It truly is a blessing to be married to Jorge. He is a man of convictions and our life’s purpose is to live for and by Him. Jorge and I both work full-time at the church. He is the Evangelism and Follow-Up Coordinator. It is beautiful to see that God put us together to work side-by-side for His glory. I would like to share our share our vision as a couple. Our vision is based off of two verses in the Bible, Romans 11:36 and Colossians 1:16:

We are children of God through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ on the cross and we have been united into one flesh by His perfect will for His glory through our personal lives, family, and ministry; we are committed and called to the Great Commission for the rest of our days until His coming. We live for and by Him.

Thank you to all who came to the wedding, participated in the wedding, and prayed for us.

On another note… The New Life Church mission group really helped us to initiate relationships with university students who are a key target for our youth ministry. We have been working with students from the University, La Evangelica, on a weekly basis ever since the group left in March. Here are a few things that we are doing with the students: weekly English Club twice a week on campus, Saturday Bible study group, monthly youth meeting, monthly devotional and worship meeting in chapel on campus, regular Sunday morning services at Iglesia Gran Comision, and we plan to start Bible study/cell groups to work with Social Sciences Department of the University.

This week, our sister church, Iglesia Gran Comision La Libertad received a mission group from West Virginia University (Go Mountaineers!!). The missionaries are sharing the gospel through teaching English and computer classes and going on community visits. The team is also helping with manual labor by fixing up the church. Christina Nieman, Jorge, a few friends from church, and I went to help with translating this past Monday. It was amazing to see how God challenges a new believer. We invited a friend, Fernando, from our Bible study group to come and help us with translation. He was translating the gospel and he, himself, had accepted Christ only 2 months ago in our group. Amen to that!! He did a great job! In La Libertad, we reported the ten people who accepted Christ to the leaders to make sure that they follow-up with them in discipleship. We pray that God continues to open hearts to His truth. We are looking forward to going back to help with translation in La Libertad this Friday.

Well I just wanted to send you a quick update for you to know what was going on. Thank you for your continued love, support, and prayers.

In Christ,
Sarah Meehan de Solórzano (isn’t that a cool name?!!)
Rom. 11:36/Col. 1:16

P.S. I’ll post more pictures when I get them. Thanks!
