Sparta Mountain Day Environmental Activities

We have the mountaintop views, the swamps, the bogs, the eagles, the hawks, the frogs, the bears and, best of all, you do not have to fly or drive hundreds of miles to enjoy it all – it is right here in our back yard.

This year our Environmental Activities include:

-Bird Walks led by NJ Audubon experts.
-Mining Walks (mining throughout the area for past 200 years) led by hiking experts.
-Geo-caching Walks led by local geo-caching enthusiasts.

-Bear Discussions led by the State of NJ representatives.
-Forest Discussion led by a State of NJ expert.
-Frog Discussions led by a local award winning science teacher, etc.
-Environmental arts and craft activities.
-Recycling Discussions led by Sussex County experts.
