Trip’s End: Shanghai
Tuesday, January 2, 2007

Our last couple days before returning to Beijing were spent in Shanghai. We took it easy, all of us being a bit run-down from the traveling, but were still able to get a sense of this vast city. The ultra-modern Pudong area (above left) sits across the Huangpu River from the Colonial-era Bund (above right), and we spent some time wandering around each. We even got a sense of Shanghai’s future, via the vast diorama on display at the Urban Planning Museum. And then it was time to fly back to Beijing, to recharge for new adventures -- and, after a few more days, bid farewell to grandma and grandpa.
