Sandy Laipply’s Entry in Eileen Hull’s Sizzix Scoreboard Blog Hop-Pink Rose Jewelry Box
My friend and talented designer Eileen Hull has developed a terrific line of Scoreboard dies for Sizzix and I’m participating in the Blog Hop to showcase them. This week we decorated the small box. Eileen sent me the die cut box, and it was up to me to decide how to decorate it. I decided it was the perfect size to hold my rings and watch on my dresser each night- I have a habit of misplacing them. Here is my box.
I used fabric from the new floral collection I’m designing. Then I challenged myself to decorate the box using only items I already had in my stash. I have to admit, my stash is pretty hefty:). I chose this pretty pearl beaded trim for the front of the box, and then added the ribbon roses. Some silver outline stickers seemed perfect for the top, and I colored them in with gel pens.
I wanted something soft inside the box, and came across this gorgeous burgundy velvet paper left over from a scrapbook I had made previously. A small piece of velcro holds the box closed. Now I have a safe place to put my jewelry at night, and a pretty addition to my dresser!

Here is a free download of the fabric/paper I used to cover the box. It is 8”x8”. You should be able to right click on it and save it to your desktop. Mac users just drag it to your desktop. Enjoy!
Several other designers have also decorated this box. Eileen Hull
has links to all of them on her blog. If you enjoyed seeing these ScoreBoard projects on the hop, please leave a comment here or on Eileen Hull's blog so we know you stopped by. This makes you eligible for a random drawing for a ScoreBoards die! On May 12, we will be making cakes! Hope to see you then. Now let the hopping begin!
