Sandy Laipply’s Sizzix Scoreboard Blog Hop Project
This entry in Eileen Hull’s Blog Hop was so much fun! I love teacups, and I had several ideas about what to do with this project. Then Brenda Pinnick issued a color challenge- she gave us 2 different palettes to choose from.
This was a real stretch for me-thanks, Brenda! You got me out of my comfort zone! I decided to use the first palette, and here’s my project.

Since I want to license my art for fabrics I decided to make some fabrics using this color scheme. I used the patterned fabric for the front and back of the tea cup, and used the stripes for the sides and insides. I painted the handle to match the fuchsia color, and also the edges of the matboard. I glued my fabrics to the pieces and then trimmed them with my X-acto knife. I added ivory eyelet lace to the top, but I felt it still needed something. I had some pink ric-rac, so I painted it with fabric paints to match the colors. For the “steam” I used small ivory pearl strung on wire. I put a small piece of foam inside to hold my wires, then added my potpouri beads. Viola! Here’s a side view.
