i have recently come full circle
I started out focusing on photography twenty years ago equipped with my father's pentax and rolls of black and white film while completing a bachelor of fine arts. Yet, my path evolved ... and I completed a masters degree and clinical work in the field of art therapy with a subsequent move to the field of educational therapy. After serving as a learning specialist in private practice for a number of years, I launched the nourishing our children campaign. I had concluded that my San Francisco students were well fed, but malnourished. A year after the campaign was established, I photographed families who were integrating traditional dietary principles into their lives for the campaign’s website. This photojournalistic endeavor, which took place in the summer of 2006, launched my portrait photography business ... and that was the moment that I made a full circle. My current focus is on environmental and studio portraits, as well as fine art and commercial photography. In addition , I offer visual communication in the form of web design, brochures, business cards and the like. I consider photography to be a spiritual practice being that the process of spontaneously capturing , or intentionally creating , a moment in time encourages me to consciously experience the present.
