Evaluation is a ubiquitous kind of human thinking. We make judgements sometimes for the sheer appreciation of what is good or beautiful, but most of the time we judge people, actions, and things so we might make the world a more just place.
We cannot determine what ought to be the case by examining what is the case. We must decide what ought to be the case.
