

Pam Borton – Head Coach
Coach Borton starts the season with a 132-61 record at Minnesota . Coach Borton was the first coach in Big Ten history to lead a school to 25 or more wins in each of her first three seasons.
Prior to coming to Minnesota Coach Borton served as Associate Head Coach at Boston College, Head Coach at the University of Vermont and assistant coach at Bowling Green.
Borton attended Defiance College in Ohio where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. She was a four-year letter winner on the basketball team, team captain her junior and senior years, and was a third-team All-American both years. A three-time all-conference and all-district selection, Borton was named the conference and district player of the year as a senior. Borton scored more than 1000 points during her collegiate career and was voted Defiance College’s Female Athlete of the Year as a senior.
Borton was inducted into the Defiance College Hall of Fame in the Fall of 2007.

Barb Smith – Associate Head Coach
The 2007-2008 season marks Coach Smith’s 5th year at Minnesota. Coach Smith serves as the basketball program’s recruiting coordinator. She is also responsible for guard development and assists in overseeing the Gophers' offensive efforts.
Smith played point guard for Ohio State in the mid 1980’s where she helped lead the Buckeyes to 4 Big Ten Titles. Smith played point guard for Ohio State in the mid 1980’s where she helped lead the Buckeyes to 4 Big Ten Titles.
Marisa Moseley – Assistant Coach

Marisa begins he 2nd year as a member of the Golden Gopher coaching staff in 2008-2009.
Prior to her arrival at Minnesota Coach Moseley spent a year as an assistant coach at the University of Denver. Among her many duties Coach Mosely will work with the Gopher post position players.
Ted Riverso – Assistant Coach

Ted Riverso joined the Gopher coaching staff in the summer of 2006. Riverso had a 337-80 record while Head Women’s Coach at the University of St. Thomas. While at St. Thomas he led the team to three Final Four appearances and the 1991 NCAA National Championship. Riverso’s responsibilities with Minnesota include working with post players, opponent scouting and recruiting.
Abby Kalland – Director of Basketball Operations

Abby Kalland begins her third year as Director of Basketball Operations on Pam Borton’s staff. The former Carlton college player and assistant coach’s responsibilities will include general operations of the women's basketball program, including the planning and scheduling of team travel.
