Sammy was born in North London in August 1983 to a jazz saxophonist father and fashion designer mother. Having taken up dancing lessons at the age of three, she was then invited to try her first audition a year later.

This resulted in her first job, a Haliborange Vitamins commercial, and very soon a part in Emmy Award-winning mini-series Summer’s Lease, alongside Sir John Gielgud, Susan Fleetwood, Michael Pennington and Leslie Phillips. This was the start of a successful and varied career as a child actor.

Sammy trained at two other theatre schools before winning a scholarship to the well-known Sylvia Young Theatre School, where she learned about her chosen industry in between acting in TV and film, regular voice work, performing on the West End stage and modeling.

Acting has brought Sammy many wonderful and unusual experiences, including taking maths classes in the fields of Tuscany, learning a whole new language for the part of Sara, in the film of the same name, and working with the best of British film and TV.
