Forecasting Reign

Michigan Christian Convention 2009 . . .

The future always holds challenges and opportunities for God’s people to endure and overcome. Preparation is one of the key ingredients in our formation that will enable us to face future challenges. In a continuing effort to prepare our churches for ministry throughout the Michigan community, we are planning to wrestle with some of the difficult obstacles we are sure to face in the no so distant future. Questions on our list currently include:

How will we stand for truth in an increasingly pluralistic community?
What is the “Millennium” generation all about and how will that impact the church?
How will we reach lost people (evangelism) with the Gospel in 2020? 2030? Beyond?
What is the “Spirituality” awakening in America and how will it impact the church?
How will we make our communities better and brighter by our presence as God’s people?
What is the future of Restoration churches in America?

(Keep watching this site as more develops. Some of the questions may change and additional questions will certainly arise. As we investigate the future challenges our churches will face, we will choose those best suited for our convention. Feel free to make suggestions, we are always interested in addressing the most pressing needs our churches are facing.)

Whatever the questions are, whatever the challenges might be, we are convinced that the forecast for the future will be Reign. Cliche as it may be . . . We may not know what the future holds, but we do know Who holds the future. God reigns, forever and ever, Amen.

Revelation 4:9-11 . . .
Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

11"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."
