The mission of the Greenville Chapter, NRHS chapter is to preserve and interpret the history of railroads of the United States, South Carolina and the upstate of South Carolina and their role in history by (1) the study of railroad operations, (2) the acquisition, restoration, operation and display of rolling stock, artifacts, photographs, paper records and other railroad related items, and (3) the education of the public about railroad operations.
We meet at 7:00 p.m. on the third Friday of each month at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1100 Log Shoals Rd., Mauldin, SC.
The Greenville Chapter NRHS owns Southern Railway 50-foot boxcar No. 33831, Southern caboose X-436, a 1948 Ford Railway Express Agency truck, a former Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Fairmont A4D1 gang car and a M9G inspection car. The Chapter also preserves the photos of the Piedmont & Northern Railway and the files of the Swamp Rabbit -the Greenville & Northern Railway.

Our railroad museum in Spartanburg is open Wednesdays 10a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturdays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
