MY MISSION

   

    I want to explain to you guys why I’m doing this site.  I’ve mentioned it a little before but here it is in length.  It’s always been a goal of mine to help people.  I wasn’t always sure what type of a job I was going to have, but I always knew I had a bigger purpose.

      Being a female musician I’ve learned that it’s harder than it has to be to get involved in music.  I was always so hesitant and shy to walk into a music store because the people working there would all treat me like I didn’t know how to play, they’d talk down to me, not help me, be rude, or just smirk.  I STILL don’t like going into guitar shops for that same reason.  But through all that, early on, I became shy as a player.  I didn’t want to play in front of people, I didn’t want to put myself out there.  I felt like I wasn’t good enough as a musician, as a girl musician on top of that, and I didn’t know who to ask to get the information I needed.  I was a really shy player for years and only came out of it through being in a band.  I feel so lucky to have had the experiences with the bands I’ve been in.  I’ve played some amazing shows and conquered a lot of my fears and had a blast doing it.

    So my goals with this site and in my life in general is to not only provide an example for girls that you can do WHATEVER it is you want to do, even if it seems so impossible and even if you don’t have a whole lot of role models.  I hope to encourage girls to be confident in who they are, to not let bad relationships with guys or friends affect who YOU are inside.  To let you all know that being a good person and staying strong and confident is so important.  And to encourage everyone to dream...A LOT.  If you can dream it, you can do it.  If you want it, you can have it.  I hope you all enjoy the site and come here often.  It’s important to me and I’m happy to be able to share it with you all.
