Orange County Register Science editor Gary Robbins and I met with engineers from Boeing at their Huntington Beach headquarters to talk  about their contributions to the 2005 shuttle Discovery. Boeing was responsible for many innovations and we detailed them in this full page graphic shown left.

For both the graphic and online animations (linked above) I built and texture mapped a 3D model of the shuttle, its payload and its robotic arm. The robotic arm and the shuttles’ payload door are completely articulated.

I worked with Lenin Aviles, one of the Register’s web wizards in the design, content and execution of the
final  website and did all the animations.
