Sweet, Sweet Karaila
Welcome to Sweet, Sweet Karaila
“Sweet, Sweet Karaila” is an adaption from works of two Contemporary Guyanese playwrights, Vic Forsythe’s “Sweet Karaila” written in 1958 and Leon Saul’s “For Better…For Worse” produced in 1981. It’s a bitter-sweet tragic-comedy of love and patriotism, when Det. Sgt. Liverpool Fennimore, the Herod’s & Samaroo’s come face-to-face with the reality of protecting family, community and nation. The story is set against the backdrop of the recent Lusignan and Bartica Massacres and is being interpreted by Director Ryan Singh in his feature directorial debut.
Guyana is throwing the biggest Caribbean Cultural Extravanganza with participation from more than 35 countries showcasing the best in Culture and Arts the Caribbean and its diaspora has to offer.
