I am a Licensed Psychologist  in Eugene, Oregon.  I work with children, adolescents, and adults.  On this page, you will find information on my general practice, as well as links to my specialty areas and mental health resources.  You may also find information on how you can use the services I offer to help improve your life and remove roadblocks to your personal growth.

Who would benefit from my practice?

The relationship is central to the successful outcome of counseling, therapy, and consultation.  A good match between what I offer in my practice and your needs is critical.

Among the issues people work through with me include  anxiety, depression,  mindfulness, trauma/ PTSD,  career development, stress management, crisis intervention, grief/loss issues, men's psychology, infertility, and spiritual growth. I provide services through a number of intervention modes. These include counseling, evaluations (including intelligence and personality testing), presentations, and clinical supervision of therapists-in-training.

I take a proactive approach, and encourage my clients to do the same.  I often encourage my clients to use new coping strategies between our sessions to maximize benefit.  This typically includes suggested readings, cd-rom-based interventions targeting healthy coping,  and an action orientation towards achievable goals for change.

What are the Fees Involved?  How is Billing Done? Insurance?

I bill insurance directly for those clients who request this service.  I am able to bill most major insurance companies.  Clients that would rather that I not bill insurance, or who don't have insurance, can pay at each session.  Fees vary based on insurance plans, financial need, and service rendered.  Lower-cost fee slots are available for those in financial need.  Most insurance companies require a co-pay or co-insurance, which I ask that clients pay at the end of each session.  Clients will be responsible for any outstanding balance after 90 days.
