It is a rare and high privilege to be in a position to help people understand the differences that they can make not only in their own lives but in the lives of others by simply giving of themselves.

Why Join HBHS PTSA?

Thinking about joining the HBHS PTSA but you aren't just quite sure where the money goes? Well that's a good question (hey, who likes buyer's remorse?) and we have some good answers!

Here just the highlights on what your PTSA dollars are used for. Also, since the HBHS PTSA (the classroom booster club) is comprised of volunteer parents, teachers, students and administrators, your money doesn't go to pay anyone's salary and it's used solely for the good of HBHS students.

If you are satisfied with the good works of our organization, please click on the following links to print out a membership form and be part of our team!

Help PTSA provide academic and classroom support!

Here is a look at a few of the things we do!

Lockers

One of our services is providing lockers to freshmen and sophomore students and students with medical needs.  Most lockers are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis during August and September.  Watch for locker applications in the school’s summer mailer or download an application from this site.

College Practice Testing

Our SAT/ACT college practice testing is sponsored by PTSA, with about 200 students participating in the fall and spring sessions.   Watch for SAT/ACT practice test flyers included in the summer mailer and in upcoming newsletters sent to you by HBHS.

 Grants

Each November, HBHS teachers and staff, who are PTSA members, can apply for grants through PTSA’s Teacher & School Grants program.  Past grants have helped establish the “Stop-in” Counseling Center, provided funding for the purchase of Student Center tables, photography, math, social studies, music, reading, career center, sign language and library supplies and equipment.

 Scholarships

PTSA acknowledges the achievements of graduating high school seniors and provides support for their continuing education costs through its scholarship program.

 Building Repairs and Construction

PTSA endorsed Measure C, the March 2004 ballot initiative, to fund repairs and upgrades to our district’s high schools.  PTSA and staff members were successful in their efforts to get out the vote in favor of Measure C!

 Programs

Other programs sponsored by PTSA are anti-substance abuse programs for students, quality guest speakers for parent evenings, Every 15 Minutes, Youth in Government, awards and incentives, student aid/welfare, Grad Night funding, and the Reflections art, music, literature & photography program.

Membership, Meetings and More! How can you help?  Find out what’s happening on campus, become a PTSA member, make a donation, and help us build a stronger PTSA.  Download our membership flyer and our meeting dates from this website and please join us at our Wednesday meetings in the Career Center.

Join PTSA The Classroom Booster Club!

You say you're not the "joining" type. Okay, we can understand that. However, we will not be offended if you just simply mail us a check (we're relentless aren't we?). If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to HBHS's PTSA, simply click here for the proper form and forwarding information for our Dollars for Scholars program.
