Huntington Beach High School's PTSA
Goals for 2008-2009
Our Mission
We are here for the benefit of all students attending Huntington Beach High School. This focus will guide us in all our decisions for the coming year
1.Communication: We support an increase in communication between parents, staff, students, administration, and the community.
2.Counseling: We support the opportunity for our school to provide counseling services for its students.
3.Drug & Alcohol Programs: We support programs aimed at alleviating drugs on our campus and educating both young people and parents of the detrimental nature of drugs.
4.School Spirit: We support administration's efforts to enhance school spirit on campus of Huntington Beach High School.
5.Parent Education: We support parent education, and where applicable, student education, through quality guest speakers.
The PTA Mission
The mission of the PTA in California is three fold:
Advocate: To support and speak on behalf of all children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
Parental Support: To assist parents in developing the skills they need to nurture children.
Involvement: To promote parent and public involvement in schools and in communities.
PTA Objectives
To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
To raise the standards of home life.
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
To bring into closer relation the home and the school, in order that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
To develop united efforts between educators and the general public to secure the highest advantages of physical, mental, social and spiritual education for children and youth.
