October Snowfall on hibiscus blossom

Discovering this idyllic place, we find ourselves filled with a yearning to linger here, where time stands still and beauty overwhelms.

Sometimes I do get to places just when God is ready to have somebody click the shutter.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS: Please send in .jpg/.jpeg images, and keep them small enough that they won’t take too long to load on slower connections (typically no larger than about 600± pixels wide, but smaller is OK, too). If your original image is larger than that, please try to scale it down. If you can’t we can do that. We rarely use very large images here, but, from time to time, we may include links that allow you to see the larger version of some images.

If you aren’t sure as to whether your picture is suitable, please ask or send it in. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks again to all of you for sharing your interesting pictures with all of us. We look forward to your submissions.

An extraordinary person and her hummingbirds

The photos of the hummingbirds and the story was submitted by Friend Joanne Gourley and are presented here ”for your enjoyment”.

This is something that is quite unusual. Abigail Alfano of Pine, Louisiana lives in a Hummingbird fly zone. As they migrated, about 20 of  them were in her yard. She took the little red dish, filled it with  sugar water and this is the result.

She has been studying them daily and one morning put the cup from the feeder, with water in it, in her hand;  as they had gotten used to her standing by the feeder they came over to her hand. She says in touching they are as light as a feather.
