ANIMAL/WILDLIFE REHABILITATORS (help out):

If you should an injured animal or bird, or need the services of a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, use this resource provided by the state.

Note: Birds are broken down into categories by the State. They will be listed under:

    PASSERINE – Robins, Blue Jays, Cardinals, etc.,

    RAPTORS – Eagles, Hawks, Owls, etc.

    SEABIRDS – Gulls, Terns, Gannets, Cormorants, Skimmers, etc.

    WADINGBIRDS – Herons, Bitterns, Cranes, Plovers, Sandpipers, etc.

    WATERFOWL – Ducks, Geese, Swans, etc.

All other wildlife listings will be as expected.

The Lawrence Brook watershed. Our own Friend, Hervé Barrier, has a wonderfully rich website “The Scenic Lawrence Brook that covers this beautiful region that is right in our own backyard. This website is a naturalist’s delight and deals with such topics as Animals, Plants, Canoeing, Sceneries, Landmarks and History. Enjoy!



ASTRONOMY and the SKY (take a look upwards):

  1. BulletThe SKY Tonight! ACCUWEATHER’S ASTRONOMY CENTER is a really nice site with lots of interesting things to check out. Among the are “Tonight’s Sky”, usually set for the current month, an Astronomy Weather Blog (quite interesting), and a link to a very good Star Chart. (When you look at this during the day, you can see which stars are in the sky at that time, but not visible because the sun, being about a million times brighter than stars, simply washes them out of the sky.)
