Although I’m not a huge fan of creative spelling, I’m honored to have been given the “Kreativ Blogger” award from Christine Valters Paintner over at the Abbey of the Arts. I’m even more honored being the only guy on the list.
No financial prize comes with this award, but I have been requested to list seven things that I love. Here goes:
1. Snuggling in the morning, cozy and warm with Reggie Rose, my bride of thirty years.
2. Long, long walks with my good dog Sam, on any terrain, and in just about any weather.
3. Living at at time when Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Paul Simon could provide the soundtrack. Watching these careers over a forty year time frame has been nothing short of astounding.
(As good as Irving, Ira, and Harold - that would be Berlin, Gershwin, and Arlen.)
4. Meeting with my guy friends, the alter kockas, at a Chinese restaurant - usually Hing Loon in Seattle’s International District; and spending time with the mishpooka - close and extended.
5. Cooking - and eating is not such a bad thing either.
6. Crafting poems.
7. Omnivorous and eclectic reading.
