Successful systemic change to improve student achievement and engagement in learning can occur in school systems when there is cohesion around a common focus from the classroom through the boardroom. A framework that provides a leadership continuum for improvement and building internal capacity for sustainability of initiatives is imperative in today’s systems. This continuum will be explored to show how districts can align their leadership and focus their work for maximum student belief.

National Board Teacher Certification Program

Listen to this 20 minute interview with Dr. Lynn Gaddis, National Board Certification Teacher and director of the National Board Resource Center at ISU. This is a great program for school districts to use for teachers to drive their own professional development and increase their teaching skills and in turn student achievement. The teacher receives a $3,000 per year stipend from the State and the State also provides up to $4,000 per year to the teacher to mentor and train other teachers.
