Welcome to my website --

    I have been drawing, painting, taking photos and making collages all my life, but it was only when I left my position in 2003 as a writer at the Library of Congress that I began to call myself an artist. I have been a student of Diane Tesler, who teaches painting at the Art League in Alexandria, Va., for  over 20 years, and I studied with Joe Shannon at the Corcoran, as well as numerous other gifted teachers at the Art League. I am a observer of the human face and an avid gardener and these interests help shape the art I make.
