Rule 25. Complete and sign a Youth Volunteer Affidavit (41.080.2.a, June 2005 Mtg., Bd. Dec. 271).

Rule 26. Agree to undergo a criminal background check and reference check (41.080.2.a).

Rule 27. Be a Rotarian selected by the sponsoring Rotary club but don't be a member of the student's host family (41.080.2.d).

Rule 28. Be in regular contact with the exchangee (41.080.2.d).

Rule 29. Serve as a liaison between the exchangee and the Rotary club (41.080.2.d).

Rule 30. Serve as a liaison between the exchangee and the natural family, host family, and community at large (41.080.2.d).

Rule 31. Be trained in responding to any problems or concerns which may arise during the exchange (41.080.2.d).

Rule 32. Be trained in the prevention of physical, sexual and emotional abuse (41.080.2.d).

Rule 33. Ensure that the exchangee is accepted and hosted by a receiving Rotary club and district (41.080.3).

Rule 34. Ensure that, prior to departure, the sending Rotary club or district organizes a mandatory orientation:

                    a. for the exchangees (41.080.3); and

                    b. for the parents or legal guardians (41.080.3).

Rule 35. Ensure that the Rule 34 orientation on the Rotary Youth Exchange program:

                    a. informs the participants about the rules, procedures, and expectations associated with the program (41.080.3); and

                    b. includes a briefing about the local Rotary club and its activities (41.080.3).

Rule 36. Ensure that the sending club or district provides:

                    a. abuse prevention and awareness training for students (41.080.3); and

                    b. abuse prevention and awareness training for parents or legal guardians (41.080.3).

Rule 37. Consult with the parents or legal guardians regarding satisfactory amounts of insurance for the exchangee (41.080.4).

Rule 38. Ensure receipt and acceptance of evidence of insurance coverage, level, and limits prior to departure (41.080.4).

Rule 39. Ensure that insurance received by the club or district is satisfactory to the host club or district (41.080.4) and provides:

                    a. overseas medical and dental coverage for accidental injury and illness (41.080.4); and

                    b. death benefits (including repatriation of remains) (41.080.4); and

                    c. disability / dismemberment benefit (also known as capital benefits) (41.080.4); and

                    d. emergency medical evacuation (41.080.4); and

                    e. emergency visitation expenses (for transportation of parent or guardian to student on location) (41.080.4); and

                    f. 24 hour emergency assistance services (41.080.4); and

                    g. legal liability (41.080.4).

Rule 40. Ensure that the exchangee and host family communicate with each other before the exchangee leaves home (41.080.8).

Rule 41. Agree in writing to all the requirements of the program as determined by both:

                    a. the sending Rotary clubs or districts (41.080.10); and

                    b. the receiving Rotary clubs or districts (41.080.10).
