This project has been commissioned by Willmott Dixon and E.Turner & sons as part of a new school build in LLanfoist, near Abergavenny.

The sculpture will be sited in the playground of the new school which is due to open this September.

The shape of the sculpture is based on an unfurling fern frond and represents growth. On one side of the sculpture is an etched stainless steel height measuring element so that the children can measure how tall they are growing. On the other side is a recessed panel into which low relief images are modelled based on drawings produced by the children at the existing school, depicting LLanfoist and surrounding areas.

The sculpture is cast aluminium with a painted surface
