A Caring, committed, community

for children to live, love, laugh and Learn

Office Staff: Tanja Coburn, Jeannie Larson, Jeannette Stone

LIVE: In order for our students to live together and accept differences, our teachers address the racial academic achievement gap and teach our students to appreciate that each of their classmates bring with them a variety of backgrounds, traditions, and cultures that give them unique identities and contribute to the richness of the classroom.

LOVE: To develop a sense of love, cooperation, acceptance, empathy, and tolerance for all people in the Trails West community and society as a whole, we encourage our students to demonstrate the “Six Pillars of Character”: Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility, Citizenship, and Caring.

LAUGH: To allow students the opportunity to laugh, play, create, explore, imagine, dream, and belong, we have a wide variety of extracurricular activities such as Sport Stacking, Spanish Club, Intramurals, Scouting, Destination Imagination, Math Club, “The Brotherhood”, “G.I.R.L.S.” Club, Accelerated Reader Club, Choir, Recorder Club, Instrumental Music, Student Council, “Girls on the Run” and many more.

LEARN: This year, we have implemented our new “Signature Program,” R.E.A.C.H. (Reaching Educational Achievement through Collaborative Heights). We have a R.E.A.C.H. classroom in grades 1st-5th for students who demonstrate high achievement, high motivation, and who display a strong work ethic. R.E.A.C.H. is not a Gifted and Talented program.

With our clear vision in mind, we move forward at Trails West with a resolve to increase achievement and to value the contributions of our students and families. We resolve to inspire “Excellence and Equity” as we provide our students with a "World-Class" education.
