Bear number 2 in the backyard. This one was a little bigger. So I tried to get as close as possible without bothering the big guy. So cool! You know I will risk my life just to get you all photos. Check out the photos.

Vegas round 2

Off to Vegas! It will be an action packed trip. In...flamingo hotel, meetings all day, pit at crossvegas, sinclair party, meetings...out.

We have setup a great team for this race. Starring: Jon Baker, Chuck Coyle, JR Grabinger, and Brad White. I am looking forward to see this team race, and thinking that Baker is going to rock it! It will be his first big test of the cross season.

Then off to Durango, CO to meet up with Pipp and Peltonen and finish out the Colorado Trail. Right now they are in Leadville and still hanging on to nice weather, considering the time of year and their elevation that they are traveling at. Still even with good weather this is a tough trip. Self supported in the mountains at elevation for 600 miles. The mountain towns must feel like a resort.

I am off to the opposite of roughing it in the mountains. To the excess of Las Vegas (a violation of all senses). But, you know I am going to live it up!

Colorado Trail

Pipp’s ride... a lot tail heavy. Wheelie machine

Peltonen’s Machine. A lot of weight on the front, but more balanced.

Reichardt’s machine....well I wish. It’s Derek’s ride.

I am planning on meeting Pipp and G somewhere outside of Leadville for a few days to make sure they haven’t killed each other. They are doing the whole Colorado trail which they started from our place. Total trip is almost 600 miles and ends just outside of Durango including all the side trips. http://coloradotrail.org/

Garrett tells me that he is also going to be riding back on the road from Durango. Yeah...Yeah, we’ll see Gina.

Great Weekend

The “Folks” are in town which is always fun. I even got to see my sister Katie who is pregnant with her first child and her husband, Jim. Katie is starting to show, which is a little funny to me, since I have never seen her like this. She looks great let me add! I really should go see them more often. I mean they do live in Denver, well...Highlands Ranch. Life is passing by and I need to spend it with the people I love.

My oldest sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Taylor Madeline Hall. The family is expending like rabbits. I am still in just practice mood....ha...ha!

I have some interesting things going on this week. It is a transition time of year. The season is almost over and you can feel the change in the air with the weather. Time to switch gears and get some business ideas I have been working on up and running. Pretty excited about it!

Not ugly!

Even not being a mountain biker, I know these trails here are something special. Miles and miles of single track with stream crossing about every 10 mins. Yeah, the water is coming straight down from the fresh water spring and still a little snow run off. The mountains are cool! The people around town are great as well.

I am keeping my eyes open for my first bear sighting. This has got to be the place. If I was a bear this is where I would hang out.

I am here celebrating Rebecca and Bryan Smith wedding, which was last week. There are about 25-30 of us here enjoying. 9 of us hit the trails this morning for a good one. Hell, I haven’t owned a mountain bike in 8 years, and have ridden...oh about 3 times in those 8 years for a total of what we did today. But, damn was it fun. I eat shit on the first descent. Caught a little to much sand and lost the front wheel. Crashing on a mountain in the trails is much friendlier then hitting the pavement on a road bike.

Tomorrow we are having a good pancake cook off. I am happy to be one of the judges. Then another 4-5 hours day in the mountains. I didn’t bring my camera, but I will do my best with my phone.
