Day of decision . . . sort of.

Committees began coming to their conclusions today.  Several committees finished their work, which mostly amounts to making recommendations to the plenary meeting next week.  Nothing that the committees decided will be enacted unless the full body concurs with the recommendations of the committee.

That means the day was full.  I have been spending a lot of my time listening to the discussions of the Ecclesiology Committee.  Yesterday 60 individuals had a chance to address the committee regarding the report of the Theological Task Force on the Peace, Unity and Purity of the Church.  Today the committee cut short their dinner break to get back to work and still had not concluded their business by ten PM.  They’ll gather back together tomorrow at 1:30 to come to their conclusions.

There is a Subway Sandwich shop right on the street of the convention center, but even that is not a fast meal when everyone pours out at once at the lunch hour.  I’m getting good at figuring out alternatives, but this sandwich reminded me of the wonderful Session and Deacon meeting we had on Tuesday night back at Old Scotch Church.  Except this time I didn’t get dessert.
