I was born in McKinney, Kentucky in 194l. My dad, John ( Elza John Vinson)  was a tobacco farmer. Mom (Cora, nee Corinne Heyworth Richards) worked in the fields with him while my Grandmother, Alice Sipple Vinson,  who was in her mid eighties kept an eye on me and said “Law me!” or “Law, toot toot!” when she was shocked by something.  In 1945 my brother, Johnny (Elza Jr.) returned from World War II. My sister, Darlene was my closest friend. My sister in law, Geraldine Adams Vinson, was born in West Virginia. Cousin Maggie was visiting from Detroit with her husband Joe Fletcher.
