We went with
Friends of the Dunes
to South Spit for the annual
Ocean Day
beach clean-up,
pulled invading non-native
European Beach Grass
, and participated in an aerial art project.

it was a team effort...
...of our three third grade classes from Lafayette
...along with 700 other
students from the region!

quite a pile
after an hour we stopped for...
lunch...
after lunch we played some games
including Smaug’s Jewels
with Crystal’s dad Gerry as Smaug
then one class at a time...
took their place forming a huge aerial art design...
that would be photographed from the air
