Ok, so I first started blogging way back in 1996 when I was a wee lad, just figuring out this whole inter-m-net thing.  I eventually stopped writing in 2001 when i accidentally misplaced my web-site data... I think it had something to do with the whole growing up, moving out of home and spending most of my time in the student union bar.  Still, here I am some 10 years on; an older, possibly wiser and somewhat more cynical me.  If there’s one thing I've learned over the years, it’s that life can hand out a few good blows and that the struggle to keep standing defines who a person is, what they can achieve and how much they like being slapped in the face.  The folks who fall down the fastest probably figure it all out quicker - some of us just enjoy the ride that little bit more.
