Things continue to heat up ministry-wise here in Antigua.. Newhope Community Church from Durham NC,
our home church, was here July 3-12 with 16 members on the team. The week began with 65 children on our
opening day of VBS. By Thursday we were ministering to 107 children. IT WAS CRAZY-but a good kind of
crazy. This team worked like a well oiled machine being flexible when they needed to be and loving on the
children. By the last day we saw tears flowing from the team as they said good-bye to their new friends from
the at St Johns Wesleyan Holiness Church, and tears from the children who hated to see them leave. A
lasting impression on both sides. It will be a trip the team will never forget! Pastor Benji Kelley accompanied
the team along with his twin boys Wesley and Benjamin. Those 2 boys were a blessing in themselves. Leah
MacMillan was the team leader. This was her first missions trip-she acted like a “pro”. What a great week! We
will be uploading tons of pictures so be sure you check out our albums section. The second team was a
combined team with team members from,Troy, High Point First, Eden Trinity, High Pine and Greensboro Christ
who not only flew to Antigua on Friday July 11th, but then flew out of Antigua on July 12th to the small island
of Montserrat-a 15 minute flight. The team of 9 went above and beyond the call of duty. The first day we had
67 children in VBS and by the end of the week we had a grand total of 120. What a blessing they were! The
3rd team was from Troy First Wesleyan Church and brought a team of 7. They did a VBS in the Mack Pond
community for 2 churches combined: Faith Wesleyan Holiness Church and Buckley’s Wesleyan Holiness
Church. The first day we had 82 children and by the end of the week we were over 100. Another great
week with a dedicated team who put themselves last and ministry first. Pastor Jeff Ray accompanied and
led the team. They were here July 26-August 2. August 19-25 North Branch Wesleyan Church from
North Branch, Michigan sent a team of 14 for a VBS at Grays Farm Wesleyan Holiness Church. A success
ful week we thought would be at least 65-70 children. By the end of the week we had 205 children.
WOW. They also painted the basement of the church. What a great week. Our last team of the year was
here Nov. 1-8. This team was from Kernersville Wesleyan Church from Kernersville, N.C. They painted the
basement of the St Johns Wesleyan Holiness Church and also had an afternoon of children’s ministry.
