Long known for training guide dog puppies, Argus Golden Retrievers has a tradition of solid working dogs and loyal companions. Laura Finco, founder of Argus Golden Retrievers, began training dogs when she was only ten years old. Her interests expanded past training dogs and worked their way into a career working with exotic animals at Marine World Africa USA. After "retiring" from Marine World, Laura went onto work with other "wild and exotic animals"--she's a full time middle school science teacher!

In 2009, Senate Majority Leader, Senator Dean Florez introduced a de facto mandatory spay/neuter bill. While it would seem logical to equate responsible ownership to the spay/neutering of pets, we still contend that this sort of surgical procedure is truly personal and needs to be determined by the owner under the guidance of their veterinarian. It is also unreasonable to use forced sterilization as a punitive measure especially with violations that are not associated with the reproductive nature of an animal. While responsible pet owners, especially responsible breeders agree that altering our pets not involved in breeding is a good practice we also believe that it is a decision to be made between owner and veterinarian.
