3:30 AM All Midway flight students and chaperones arrive at FHS

3:45 AM All O’Hare flight students and chaperones arrive at FHS

4:15 AM Buses for Midway Airport depart, arrive by 5:15 am

4:45 AM Buses for O’Hare Airport depart, arrive by 5:15 am

7:45 AM 96 passengers depart out of Chicago O’Hare aboard United flt. 1518

11:19 AM 96 passengers arrive in Orlando

7:20 AM 63 passengers depart out of Midway aboard Airtran flt. # 829

10:51 AM 63 passengers arrive in Orlando

Upon arrival Begin loading motor coaches and depart for Epcot

12:30 PM Arrive at Epcot - Lunch in park (student cost)

PM Dinner in park (meal coupon provided)

5:15 PM Load motor coaches; depart for Disney Event Group Production Building

* Chaperones and Vikettes stay at Epcot

6:00 PM Fremd H.S. Band participates in Disney’s “You’re Instrumental” Workshop

Takes concert bands into a recording studio and gives them the unique chance to record their own soundtrack to a portion of a Disney animated feature.

9:00 PM One motor coach picks up chaperones and Vikettes at Epcot main entrance

9:00 PM Three motor coaches pick up band students and depart for:

The Rosen Centre Hotel

9:30 PM Check-in to the hotel

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 28

7:30 AM Buffet breakfast at the hotel

8:15 AM Depart for the Ticket & Transportation Center

Take the ferry across and enter through the main gate

12:00 PM Lunch in park (student cost)

1:00 PM Meet at Pecos Bill Café (by Splash Mountain), go back stage to change for parade

3:00 PM Performance in “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade” (first band!)

4:00 PM Back in the park for free time

PM Dinner in park (meal coupon provided)

9:00 PM View Wishes Nighttime Spectacular Fireworks Display

10:15 PM Load motor coaches at Ticket & Transportation; return to the hotel

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 29

7:00 AM Buffet breakfast at the hotel

8:00 AM Check-out of the hotel; begin loading motor coaches

8:15 AM Depart for Disney Animal Kingdom

Afternoon Lunch in park (student cost)

1:00 PM Load motorcoaches and depart for Disney MGM Studios

5:30 PM Dinner in park (meal coupon will be provided)

6:30 PM View the Fantasmic Show!

7:15 PM Load coaches; depart for Jacksonville (141 miles, 2 ½ hrs. drive time)

9:45 PM Arrive in Jacksonville and check-in to hotel: The Clarion Hotel Airport

-Private security 10:30 pm – 5:30 a.m.-

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30

7:00 AM Buffet breakfast at the hotel

8:00 AM Begin loading motor coaches

8:30 AM Depart for Terry Parker High School, Jacksonville

9:30 AM Warm-up for Symphonic Winds, performance on stage at 10:00 AM

10:30 AM Wind Symphony warm-up on stage, followed by performance

11:30 AM Jazz Ensemble warm-up, performance at 12:00 pm

12:15 PM Boxed lunches will be delivered to school

1:00 PM Load motor coaches; depart for Little Talbot Island

Enjoy the beach time!!!

3:30 PM Board the Jacksonville Riverboat Cruise

4:00 PM Cruise departs

Enjoy pizza and soda and d.j. dance party

6:15 PM Load motor coaches; return to the hotel

-Private security 10:30 pm – 5:30 a.m.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31

6:15 AM Buffet breakfast at the hotel

7:15 AM Load coaches

7:30 AM Depart for Terry Parker High School

8:00 AM Mass Band Field Show rehearsal

12:00 PM Rehearsal ends

12:15 PM Load coaches; depart for Regency Square Mall for lunch (student cost)

1:15 PM Load coaches; depart for Gator Bowl Parade

3:00 PM Viking Marching Band steps-off in the “Winn Dixie Hometown Gator Bowl Parade” (approximately 2 miles in length)

4:30 PM Load coaches and return to the hotel (showers and change – semi-formal attire)

7:30 PM Load coaches and depart for the Awards Ceremony

8:00 PM Dinner, Awards Ceremony and Dance Party

9:30 PM Awards Ceremony begins.

12:00 AM Happy New Year! – 12:30 Load coaches and return to the hotel

MONDAY, JANUARY 1

7:00 AM Buffet breakfast at the hotel

8:00 AM Check-out of the hotel; begin loading motor coaches

8:15 AM Depart for Terry Parker HS

9:00 AM Participate in Half-time Show dress rehearsal

10:30 AM Depart for All-Tel Stadium

12:35 PM Gator Bowl Game kick-off – food in stadium is at student cost

Afternoon Lunch in the stadium (student cost)

2:30 PM Viking Marching Band performs in the Massed Band Field Show

3:00 PM All students and chaperones exit game to load motor coaches. Change out of uniforms, load uniforms and instruments

3:30 PM Depart for Orlando (2 ½ hrs. drive time)

6:00 PM Arrive at Orlando International Airport

7:57 PM 96 passengers depart out of Orlando Intl. aboard United flt. #1591

9:48 PM 96 passengers arrive at Chicago O’Hare Airport

11:15 PM Arrive back at FHS (this is an approximate time)

8:49 PM 63 passengers depart out of Orlando aboard Airtran flt. #862

About Our Trip

Recently, select members of the Fremd Band and Vikettes Programs traveled to Orlando and Jacksonville Florida to participate in parades, band clinics and culminating in a half-time performance in the Gator Bowl on New Year’s day. The full itinerary is listed below.
