Philosophical Biography
I work primarily on metaphysical issues, particularly those having to do with modality and ontology. I have written a some on the necessity of origin and the ontology of art, with a little bit of epistemology on the side. I remain interested in mind, language, logic, ethical theory, and practical reason. Definitely more fox than hedgehog.
I received my Ph.D. from UCLA in 1999 and my B.A. from Pomona College (with a short stint at Jesus College, Cambridge) in 1990. After grad school, I worked at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and the University of Utah, Salt Lake City for two years each. Now I am tenure-track at Auburn and am very happy there.
