By the grace of God and the movement of the Holy Spirit, in convention at Trinity Episcopal Church, Geneva, The Rev. Dr. Richard Murphy was elected to become the 8th Bishop of Rochester.

The majority of Bishop and Standing Committees of the Episcopal Church consenting, he will be ordained and consecrated a bishop by Presiding Bishop Katherine Jefferts Schori and all Bishops of The Episcopal Church present on May 31, 2008 at the Eastman Theater, Rochester, New York
