Multicultural INSET
In addition to our well known multicultural Children’s Our World Festivals we can organise multicultural training. We provide multicultural training workshops for teachers as part of an INSET programme. Often cluster events, these provide hands-on practical experience in a range of multicultural activities.
Please contact us to discuss you needs.
Case Study
Hunstanton Cluster INSET, January 2008
Having run INSET sessions in Hunsanton in previous years, Our World Festivals were called back in 2008 to run a Multicultural INSET day for the primary school teachers in the cluster. The day was held in the local secondary school and the programme designed to meet the requests of the Headteachers in the cluster who wanted a “hands-on”, practical approach to multicultural training.
After introductions and coffee the day started with a Bhangra warm-up session for all present led by Dance Kalli. The group then chose from a series of workshops including:
Local Dance and Story, Indian Folk Dance, Samba, African Mask Making, African Sculpture, Afrcian Tie-Dye and Batik, Indian Music and Song, Carribean Poetry, Drama using Traditional Story and Judaism.
We have had feedback saying how enjoyable the day was and that many of the skills learnt are now being used in the classroom.
