Norfolk Our World Festivals Ltd, founded and directed by Gordon Phillips, specialises in multicultural education, including English traditional stories and dance.
Children’s Multicultural Festivals
We have organized over 55 multicultural festivals over the past 15 years with approximately 100,000 pupils and adults in attendance. These figures demonstrate the determination of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire schools to prepare their pupils for life in a multi-ethnic society. Follow the link to the left to find out more.....
East Anglian Traditions
We run tailor made workshops in Traditional East Anglian Customs, mainly in primary schools. These may involve molly dancing, broom dancing, local stories from Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, poetry, English Country Dancing and local history. We have worked in over 50 schools during the past 4 years totaling nearly 500 half day sessions.
Multicultural INSET
Our multicultural teacher training days, often cluster events, provide hands-on experience in a range of areas including multicultural dance, art & crafts, music, storytelling and drama.
Please follow the links to find out more. See out Teaching Resource Pages for details of the traditional molly dance we teach, the local East Anglian stories that we tell and examples of some of the historical research we have carried out at the schools in which we have worked.
