We’d like as many people as possible to download the single during the first week of release. There will be two versions of the song, plus a new version of “Anger” from our second album Seven, so please buy as many of these as you can afford as they all count towards the chart placing. If everyone pulls together, a place in the UK top 40 is a real possibility.

Cardiff-based rock band Magenta will celebrate their move to a new label, Tigermoth Records, with the UK release of a new single “Speechless” as both a download and CD single on March 19th. The song is a slice of exuberant, infectious rock with a great hook and a strong contemporary feel.

Says keyboard player Rob Reed, who co-wrote the song with singer Christina Booth:

“People may be surprised with Speechless – it shows a side of the band that not many have heard. However, we feel it’s a very strong song, and the perfect vehicle to increase our profile in the UK. We genuinely believe we can get it into the top 40.”

Become a member of the Street Team

Now we have the artwork, we have produced some leaflets and posters to help promote the single, so we need your help. If you can find a suitable location for a poster, be it in a workplace, shop or venue, then get in touch and we will get some to you. Please remember, though, no fly posting!

We have identified a series of concerts at which we would like a team of leafleters. You can see the list at http://www.magenta-web.co.uk/targetgigs.html . Please get in touch if you can help with any of these. Of course, this list is not exhaustive, so if you are going to any other gigs that you think might have some audience crossover with Magenta, or have any other places to hand them out, let us know and we’ll get some leaflets to you.

Of course, we are not asking you to do this without any sort of reward, and anyone willing to join our street team will get an invite either to the single launch in Cardiff, or a signed Magenta album.

Speechless Launch Party

We are delighted to announce that we will be launching the single at The Hard Rock Café, St. Mary Street, Cardiff on Tuesday 20th March. The band will play a short set, and entrance will be by invitation only. If you would be interested in attending, then contact us at magentasingle@btinternet.com
