Great start but then Moles sink 4-1 at Kidlington
The inclement weather put paid to Saturday’s action at Hill Farm Lane. All junior games were postponed Friday and the Reserves were ruled out after a pitch inspection on Saturday morning. To round off a miserable Mole weekend the 1st team took the lead at Kidlington but missed a penalty and went down 4-1.

With great vocal support from the U7 Tornadoes and Hurricanes (above), Binfield ended the day a little disappointed that they had not inflicted Almondsbury’s first defeat of the season but in truth the result was fair. The result put a clear measure on the club’s progress. The Moles clearly won the first half and the visitors were dominant after the break. Carl Withers scored first on 22 minutes when his free kick from outside the box hit a mole on the edge of the 6 yard box and bounced over the keeper. Jermaine Gumbs, possibly playing his last game, scored with an excellent drive across the keeper on 40 minutes. Stearn, recently released from Bristol City, was the outstanding player on the field with two fantastic goals on 52 and 65 minutes after good work from the nippy Kabba.
